It's your home for all of the events and activities for both TJ's School and PTA.
Check it out and let us know if you have any suggestions - we'd love to hear from you at TJjaguarsPTA@gmail.com.
Our population of approximately 450 encompasses students of many diverse backgrounds and cultures in kindergarten through sixth grade. We strive to provide the kind of individual attention that encourages students both academically and socially and makes our large school seem like a smaller, more personal one. Thomas Jefferson's mission is to empower our students to be self-motivated, world-class learners who demonstrate respect, responsibility, and commitment to academic excellence. Our motto is One Terrific Journey, and staff, parents, and community supporters are all dedicated to making each child's journey at Thomas Jefferson truly terrific!

Thursday, February 23rd - 3rd-6th Grade Author Visit - Authors John Martin & Scott Seegert (authors of Sci-Fi Junior High) will be coming to TJ today to do a presentation for our students about their careers as authors. This author visit has been made possible by the TJ PTA hosting a Spring Book Fair with Anderson Book Company. Anderson offers author visits as an added benefit to schools who host book fairs with them! If you are interested in purchasing a book to be autographed, return the completed order form and payment by Thursday. If you have any questions about the visit, please contact TJ Reading Specialist, Sara Rossi (firstname.lastname@example.org) Monday February 13th - Friday February 24th - Box Top$ Collection - We will be collecting Box Top$ in the classrooms today through Friday, February 24! The class with the most Box Top$ per student each week will earn a SWEET TREAT – coupons for FREE ICE CREAM! So start snipping and help TJ earn some additional funds. Each Box Top is worth 10¢! With your help, we can earn over $2,000 for TJ! *Don’t forget to ask your friends and family for help! Questions? Contact Lauren Schubert at Lauren@blackdiamondtoday.com Friday, February 24th - Manna Orders Due - Purchase gift cards through TJ's Manna Scrips program and you will receive the same gift cards you would purchase in the store. For example - purchase a $20 grocery store gift card and you will receive a $20 gift card to that merchant. In return, the merchant donates a percentage of your purchase back to the TJ PTA. It costs you nothing more than the money you would have already spent, to support TJ! Interested in ordering? Print the order form here - or email Amy Etnyre (email@example.com) or Julie Wheeler (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions
Monday, February 27th – Friday, March 3rd – Extreme Makeover Lounge Addition 2017 - This year the Teacher Appreciation Committee is focusing our time and funding on a special project - updating the tired and drab teachers’ lounge!!! If you have never been in the lounge, check out the pictures on Facebook and our website to see how "sad" it looks!! Our goal is to create a bright, yet calming, collaborative space that will spark creativity and foster personal and professional growth for all! We will be completing our remodel the week of Monday, February 27th and we need all the help we can get! Please consider signing up to donate supplies, your time and/or expertise here. We are also greatly in need of financial donations, as our budget is quite low. With ~450 students attending TJ, we could raise a significant amount of $ if every child contributed something! Thank you in advance for your support and consideration. We hope that this project will show the teachers and support staff just how much the TJ families appreciate them! Please contact Lyndsey Kindorf (email@example.com) with any questions. Monday, February 27th, 7pm at Sundling Jr High - SPARK Meeting - Effective Behavior Management at Home - Does your child come home from school or other activities and act out now that they’re back in their safe space, sometimes disrupting family dynamics? Alice Belgrade, of Belgrade Behavior Consulting, will be sharing research-based interventions with proven results to help children and families create happier, healthier relationships. Please contact Sarah Winter (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions.
Thursday, March 2nd, 7pm - 4th Grade Music Program
Our Weekly High 5 – You did it, we appreciate it!
This week we want to give a big High 5 to those who attend our PTA meetings. We know life gets busy and its not always convenient to attend, but we want you to know, we appreciate you. These meetings are usually only about 1 hour and it's a great opportunity to learn more of what is happening at TJ and in the District that you might not otherwise hear about. Haven't been to a meeting before? Join us on March 14 at 7:15pm, we promise it is a no pressure environment and we'll just be happy to have you there!
