T.J.'s Mission:
Our population of approximately 460 encompasses students of many diverse backgrounds and cultures in kindergarten through sixth grade. We strive to provide the kind of individual attention that encourages students both academically and socially and makes our large school seem like a smaller, more personal one. Thomas Jefferson's mission is to empower our students to be self-motivated, world-class learners who demonstrate respect, responsibility, and commitment to academic excellence. Our motto is One Terrific Journey, and staff, parents, and community supporters are all dedicated to making each child's journey at Thomas Jefferson truly terrific!

​             Monday, February 25th - Box Tops - Did you remember to send in your Box Tops?  We've gotten very few Box Tops this collection and are hoping to get a few more to get in the mail before the deadline this week!  If you still have any, please get them turned in today!  


Monday, February 25th 7pm-8:30pm - Spark: Social Thinking – at Sundling Jr. High. There will be a program focusing on improving social competencies in our learners with social cognition challenges. This presentation will cover the basic concepts and curricula of Social Thinking

Tuesday, February 26th - Fourth Grade Field Trip – For more information, please contact your child’s teacher

Wednesday, February 27th - Kindergarten Field Trip – For more information, please contact your child’s teacher

Wednesday, February 27th - 6:00 pm–7:35 pm at TJ - Arctic Family Night – Please join us to exercise your mind and body! You can participate in a penguin race, skate on an obstacle course, visit the Arctic through virtual reality, listen to mystery readers, create winter crafts, design an Arctic comic strip plus more! Friday, March 1st, 11am-11pm - Restaurant Day/Night at Rosati’s Pizza – Don’t feel like cooking? Then help support the TJ PTA by eating or ordering from Rosati’s Hoffman Estates on Barrington Road. The offer is good with dine in, carry out or delivery. Rosati’s will donate 20% of sales back to the TJ PTA. You must present the flyer for the school to get credit.  Click here  Questions? Interested in getting more involved in the TJ PTA? We need your help! For the 2019 – 2020 school year, we are looking for:

  • a co-president,
  • two Vice Presidents of Communication,
  • two Vice Presidents of Programs,
  • a Vice President of Ways and Means (fundraising)
  • a Secretary.

Our Weekly High 5 – You did it, we appreciate it!

​This week we’d like to give a high 5 to Dana Marquardt for planning and coordinating our amazing Teacher and Staff Appreciation Breakfast. A big thank you to all the parents who contributed food, drinks and helped with the set up and clean up.
