The Lego
Club consists of seven 6th grade students.
These students learn how to build, program, and maintain a robot made
entirely out of Legos.
The entire purpose of the Lego Club is to get students to experience
what it is truly like being an engineer. Not only do they get to build
a robot, they also get to compete in a state wide tournament against
other robots and kids of the same age.
It truly is a once in a lifetime experience!
Anybody who wants to join the TJ Lego Club must be in 6th grade and
must fill out an application form. Then, seven lucky students are drawn
at random and added to the team.
The first meetings start in early September.
This year's club has done very well so far, placing 5th out of 14 teams
in District 15.
The
Lego Club meets 3-4 days per week after school Sept - Dec in the 6th
Grade "wet area".
