CREATIVE
WRITING ENCOUNTER
The Creative Writing Encounter Committee provides a
monthly theme for a writing contest for all students at Thomas Jefferson.
Grade level winners have their submissions published in the newsletter
and all participants receive a published book of all "collected works"
at the end of the year.
October's
topic:
"If you could build a home for a family who lost theirs in the hurricane,
what would you build for them and why?"
October's sponsor:
Jeff
and Laurie Asquith, the Home Duo of Remax Suburban.
October's Prize:
The Home Duo donated $50 to the Red Cross for hurricane relief in
the name of each winner. The Red Cross is also pitching in by providing
a certificate of acknowledgment for each child--not only winners,
but every child who participated in the contest.

November's topic:
A letter to a grandparent(s).
The prize will be having your entry read to the assembled grandparents
on Grandparents' Day at TJ. All entries will be displayed in the halls
on that day if possible.
